In my mind I look like this.
So then why does the tag say this?

There are just some words that should NEVER be abbreviated!

HELP!

This describes it.
I am so tired of "stuff".
I'm drowning in it.

Rainy Day

When you wake up and it looks like this out the window what do you do?

Put on a happy face.

Pull out floral fabric

and stitch yourself up a spring bouquet!

Just listed these all on Etsy.

Paintings by Hubbie, happy face photo by Material girl, art aprons by me!

Yeah, they're all mailed!

These are swap gifts from a Yahoo group that I belong to: CreativeChix
The "funky" heart to the left is by Martha Brown at Destination Unknown, center is Donna (more info to come) and the "binged up" heart is from the swap leader, Gail at Heartartz. The hearts that I sent can be seen here.
Another package arrives in the mail for ME!

These swap gifts are from Tammy at, Periwinkle Pass Studio. I love the boldness of color that she uses in her art.
Note: Valentine chocolates have already been consumed therefore were not available to be photographed.

Renea, at Pocket Full of Pretty's coordinated this swap. Renea is moving right now. Stop by her blog and say "Hi" so when she's all plugged in again she'll have a box full of well wishes!

Gifts and Swaps

"Why do you get the fun stuff in the mail and all I get is school books?" says, Material Girl.
What can I say?
They're the gifts you get for spending a ridiculous amount of time blogging every evening.
Betty at She's Sew Pretty swapped me this for a charm. I sent along a bit more because I was getting the best end of the deal! I have been lusting over her pin cushions for some time. She too has an etsy shop. We both turned 49 around the same time so it was a good reason to swap.

This cute little guy came sometime ago from Michelle at 3rd Eye Muse. I love Michelle, she was one of the RED Party artists this year.

The Lucy and Shawnees from Sassy flirty apron swap has everyone paired up with secret partners. Jody, from Jodybob quilts, was my secret partner that sent me this RED apron, sweets, romance novel and tissue. Do you think the book might be a tear jerker?

I can't tell you who my partner is yet, but she said she like batiks.

This is the apron I sent her.

Heidi set up the Very Vintage Valentine swap. My swap partner Trish from "Wis can son" who sent me this wonderful Valentine basket.
Trish has a fun etsy shop also.
Here is the Valentines box I sent off to her.

And to think I still have two more swaps to do?
What was I thinking?
Oh, that's right, another way to drive my teenage daughter crazy.
Me getting gifts and not school books! ...hee hee hee.

RED PartY

When it's the end of January and you see this out your window.

And your waiter looks like this.

There is only one place on earth you can be....

HOLLYWOOD BABY!

The RED PartY was this last weekend.

More photos are coming but I had to get something out to share.

Life Through Art Foundation hosts this once a year event to honor someone who has dedicated their life to art while hosting a fundraiser to continue exposing under privileged children to the arts.

Jeff Brooks, president of the foundation announced that just the night before the party LTAF had bused inner city kids to a live performance of Peter Pan. Hosting a backstage tour and meeting the actors. These were kids that had NEVER experienced theatre before.

Their goal for 2009 is to reach 10,000 kids!

This years event was at the Petersen Auto Museum in Hollywood.

I am honored to be a part of this as the
event designer
(what that means is doing whatever Jeffery wants me to do).

Jeffery Brooks, president LTAF

The team that put this together was great. Kristopher Kelly, a man of energy and enthusiasm, Jennifer Bobbiewash, the most organized woman I have ever met, Ford Englerth, lighting extraordinaire and Jeffery Brooks, the visionary that can successfully rally people together to serve kids.

The enormous tent was transformed into RED.

Red lightning, red fabric, red decor and red art!

Jenny Doh, Editor-in-Chief & Director of Publishing Stampington & Company. was the honoree. Ask me how excited I was to meet Jenny Doh in person?

Ahh Duh!

That should be a no brainer for anyone in the craft world!

Here is Jenny singing, 'Red Red Wine' for the party...

...Just kidding!

This is her giving an amazing speech . As she expressed with great eloquence,

"Art saves".

It was Jenny's birthday as well as my Mom's, Glam-Ma that evening.

To all the RED artists your work was featured on a calender that was handed out at the event.

Your talents and your willingness to share your art with this foundation has allowed more children to be able to learn to live their Life Through Art.

(I will be mailing calenders out to all of you this week)

Please go see Life Through Art Foundation blog for links to all the participating artists and many artist profiles. Stop by thier sites and tell them how much you appreciate their sharing hteir talents with

Just like Jenny said,

"Art saves!"

So,

Live life and dream always
